Google Keyword Planner
I have The Google Keyword Planner listed first because well, it’s Google’s proprietary keyword tool and what better way to give Google what it wants then by using their own keyword tool right? The Google Keyword Planner is obviously the # 1, go to free keyword tool that anyone who is new to content marketing or even seasoned affiliate marketers should become familiar with. Learning how this tool works will take your website to the next level. It’s easy to use and it is very reliable well, because it is Google right? You cannot go wrong with Google’s free Keyword Planner.
Learn how to use the Google Keyword Planner properly and keyword research will become second nature to you and if you use it correctly it will give you countless content keywords for your website for years to come.
First thing you do is click the box with the red arrow in the image to the left.
Next you will enter your search term into the box like the image on the right. We will use the word “surfing” as an example Once you hit “Get Ideas” it will take you to the next page which will lay all of the results out in a nice and organized way.
Once you have your search terms in Keyword Planner you will be provided with a multitude of ideas(keywords) and metrics like monthly searches, each keyword’s CPC or Cost Per Click and the keyword’s competition which will be either “high”, “medium” or “low”. Armed with this information you should be able to come up with numerous content ideas based on your new search terms.
Go ahead and head over to https://adwords.google.com and play with it. If you don’t have an Adwords account yet no worries just set one up like you set up any other Google account. It is free.
Keyword In is a really cool tool used for getting a ton of long tail keywords which are multiple word phrase keywords and how it works is really simple, in the picture to the left you can see that I went with Keyword In’s default inputs where it produced the results you see in the image on the left. With these keywords you can plug them into Google Keyword Planner to get your metrics like search volume and competition. Keyword In uses what they call “modifiers” that can give you an absolute infinity of combinations of key phrases that will boost you keyword research to new levels! Keyword In coupled with the Google Keyword Planner are a winning combination of tools that and SEO expert would agree with. Keyword In is definitely one of the best free keyword tools and I highly suggest you to add it to your keyword research arsenal.
Yes you read that right! Keyword Shitter really is an appropriate name for this free keyword tool that literally “shits” out thousands of keywords extremely fast. Yet another one of the best free keyword tools available. As you can see in the image to the right that I entered my seed keyword “surfing” and literally in less than two minutes later the tool “shit” out 5696 keywords based on my seed keyword. I know of no other free keyword tool that does this as efficiently as Keyword Shitter. I LOVE their logo as well!
Again, this is a great free tool to produce bulk keywords that can be used in conjunction with Google Keyword Planner to dominate the search engines, your Pay Per Click(PPC) campaigns etc…and did I say I love their logo!
The next in my list of best free keyword tools is a website called Soovle. Funny name I know but a great site for finding a lot of keywords.
Soovle is an aggregator of keywords from the following websites:
You can drag and drop any or all of the above “engines” into Soovle interface and just type your search term into the search bar and watch Soovle return keyword suggestions for all of the engines, I took a screenshot of a search on Soovle using the search term “surfing” and it returned approximately 10 results for each. Like Keyword In & Keyword Shitter, Soovle does not return competition or search volumes that is what Google’s Keyword Planner is for.
